When I had my lithography studio in Chemainus (2016-2017), I had to take the ferry everyday to get to it from Thetis Island, where I used to live.
From my house, it was almost exclusively a walk through the forest. There is a moment where the forest changes from a light, maple patch to a thick, dark cedar stretch. The transition between the two is quite sharp, and I would often feel, upon entering the cedar area, that I was diving under water. "Les bulles" means "the bubbles".
