Rodney Sayers, a Hupač̓asatḥ artist from Ahswinis, Port Alberni, is a nuučaańuł descendant known for blending traditional and contemporary art. He earned his degrees from Capilano College, the Alberta College of Art and Design, and Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, where he also served as Student Union President and earned the Joseph Beuys Memorial Scholarship.
Back in Ahswinis, Rodney's work integrates cultural traditions and has been showcased in various exhibitions. He has received grants from several institutions and has contributed to public art projects like the Port Alberni welcome figures and the Richmond speed skating oval sculpture for the Vancouver Olympics.
